Venturing forth will provide you with countless rewards - including resources, materials, food, and blueprints to better serve your cult. Happy followers can be led on sermons to increase your power, and the power of your weapons and curses when to set out to crusade. These two systems benefit the other, ensuring that equal time should be spent fighting and managing. Your temple can be used to host sermons to increase your power, enact rituals with different consequences, and issue doctrines that benefit your playstyle.All Followers need to sleep at night (preferably in a bed), and eat every day or so - but only you can cook meals.Followers will generate devotion when praying or leveling up, which you can use to unlock new buildings for your cult.Time will pass whether you’re supervising your followers or not, so you’ll need to check back regularly, and not take too much time dungeon crawling - or you may come back to find all hell breaking loose. Build housing, cook food, and set them to work and pray for the benefit of your divine leadership. However, between crusades, you’ll spend time at your cult, building up a settlement for your followers to live in, and see to their needs (or see that they serve your needs). All crusades will end with a mini-boss fight (some of which you’ll be able to convert to followers), and chests will reward you with lavish valuables - if your survive the attempt.In between the start and end are branching paths you can pick, letting you seek out various other encounters, including more combat rooms, merchants, and surprises.Each crusade begins and ends with a series of random rooms full of enemies, and you’ll be able to pick a random weapon and magic curse at the start.
You’ll have to crusade through each of these regions at least four times to unlock the temple of the false prophets, the Bishop Lords that rule these lands. Each region you visit consists of a series of randomly generated rooms and encounters, and is necessary to progress the story.
